Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche teaching
Common Sense, Philosophy, and Realization. As for Realization: Rigpa and Marigpa (Knowing and Not Knowing)
Thursday August 30th at 7pm
We are thrilled that Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche will give a teaching on Thursday, August 30 at 7pm, at the Rigpa New York City center.
Born in 1951, Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche is an accomplished high Lama of the Kagyu tradition. He is the eldest son of the celebrated Dzogchen master, H.E. Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche, and the great-great-grandson of one of the most outstanding Nyingma treasure-finders of the 19th century in Tibet, Terchen Chokgyur Lingpa.
In addition to being the abbot of one of the largest monasteries in Nepal, Rinpoche has been teaching westerners for almost 35 years. With a concise, lucid and humorous approach, he imparts the very core of the Buddhist teachings, revealing the natural simplicity of the Enlightened Mind.
Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche is the founder of the Rangjung Yeshe Institute for Advanced Buddhist Studies in Kathmandu, and the spiritual head of a world-wide network of “Dharma Houses” and “Gomde” Buddhist retreat centers. Rinpoche also established Dharmachakra Publishers who have produced numerous scholarly translations. His own writtings include such titles as: “indisputable Truth”, “The Union of Mahamudra & Dzogchen”, “Mirror of Mindfulness”, “The Bardo Guidebook”, “Present Fresh Wakefulness” and “Medicine and Compassion”. DharmaSun based in Nepal, broadcasts online Buddhist study programs and his popular weekly Saturday Morning Talks.
