The Way to Inner Peace and Contentment
11 Week Course starting May 1
Regardless of who we are, the main purpose of our life—you could call it the heart of being human—is to be happy. If we look closely, we can see that there are two kinds of happiness. One is based more on physical comfort; the other is founded on a deeper, mental contentment. If we have this deeper, inner peace and contentment, then, even when we go through physical suffering, our minds can still be happy.
If we apply them to ourselves, we could discover that meditation, the view of Interdependence, and altruism can revolutionize the way we work and act in the world.
Then, even though life may be complex on the outside, we will possess an inner simplicity and carefree dignity. This will enable you to meet difficulties, crises, and troubles with a deeper acceptance and insight. Our understanding will also help you transform and overcome problems, and lead you to the inner peace, stability of mind and contentment that we need to face the challenges of the world today.
This course is based on the structure of Sogyal Rinopche’s public talks, who always says he gives something complete—the heart of his tradition— during a public talk, so we should not underestimate the impact of these teachings.
This course is led by Rigpa instructors with teachings by Sogyal Rinpoche on video, with meditation and contemplative practices and discussion.
This course will present teachings that deepen and enhance our appreciation of the meditation, interdependence, and altruism. The teachings chosen for this series of presentations are experiential in their approach.
